ABOUT THE RECTOR
Dr. Sulaiman Mohammed Lame was born on 1st March 1965 in lame Jama’a district of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. At an early age Dr. Lame started learning Qur’anic recitation from his father before he was enrolled into formal education.
Dr. Lame attended Lame Primary School in Toro Local Government Area from 1973 – 1978 where he obtained the 1st School leaving certificate. He was admitted into Government Secondary School, Darazo from 1978 – 1983. From there, he proceeded to Bauchi College of Arts and Science (BACAS) from 1983 – 1985. He was there after being admitted into the Bayero University, Kano from 1985 – 1988 where he was awarded Bachelor of Science in Economics (B.Sc. Economics). He was enrolled into the University of Jos from 1992 to 1995 and obtained Master of Science in Economics (M.Sc. Development Economics). He was thereafter admitted into Universiti Tunn Hussein Onn (UTHM) Malaysia and obtained Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Technology Management (Entrepreneurship).
Dr. Lame was first appointed as Assistant Lecturer on GL 07 in January, 1990. He was promoted to the rank of Lecturer III on USS 8 January, 1993. He later took up appointment as Senior Manpower Officer with the National Manpower Board, Lagos from March, 1994 – 1997. Because of his outstanding performance, he was promoted to the rank of Principal Manpower Officer, National Manpower Board, Minna, Niger State from 1997 – 1999. He was later appointed as Personal Assistant – Executive Secretary National Manpower Board, Abuja from 1999 – 2001.
In 2002, he reverted to Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi where he was promoted to the rank of Lecturer I. Based on his exceptional performance, he was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2005. In 2009 he was promoted as Principal Lecturer while in 2013, he was promoted as Chief Lecturer.
