Federal polytechnic, Kaltungo was established with the Federal Polytechnic Establishment Act of 2019 and it is currently running its academic activities on a take-off site at the premise of Model School in Kaltungo. However, the community has allocated double of the parcel of land, 100 hectares of land, instead of the 50 hectares of land requested by the government for the permanent site.
The Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo is a Nigeria federal government-owned higher institution located in Kaltungo, a local government area in Gombe State, North-Eastern Nigeria and one of the eight (8) newly established Polytechnics in Nigeria
The Governing Council is the highest decision making Body saddled with responsibility of policy direction and regulation of the Polytechnic.
The Academic Board is responsible for proper direction and management of all academic matters of the Polytechnic including the regulation of admissions of students. It also advise the Council on all academic matters including the award of Diplomas, Certificates, prizes and other distinctions.
For a smooth running of the affairs of the Polytechnic there shall be a Management Committee Headed by the Rector as the Chief Executive of the institution and Chairman of the Committee. Composition of the membership of the Committee are Principal Officers comprising of the Deputy Rector, Registrar, Polytechnic Librarian, Bursar and other members of the Management Committee are Deans, Directors of Academic Planning, Physical Planning, Works& maintenance, Medical Services, Information Communication Technology (ICT),Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Procurement. The Major function of the Management Committee is to discuss and take decisions on matters of general interests to the Polytechnic.
